Call for Application of Capacity Building Training On Procurement for Professional Women and Entrepreneurship Skill for Rural Women

As part of the Transformation Agenda, the Federal Government of Nigeria in partnership with the Federal Ministry Finance and the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development are implementing a project for the purpose of delivering results for Girls and Women in the 2013 budget. The aim is to enhance the participation of girls and women in critical sectors of the nation’s economy. This has been developed into a programme by the Ministry of Finance and will be implemented by five key ministries to deliver concrete results for Girls and Women in the 2013 budget The vision is to have Ministries use resources effectively to deliver concrete results for poor Girls and Women in Nigeria so as to save lives, open up access to life changing possibilities and move Nigeria forward toward its development goals.

As components of the project the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Federal Ministry of Works as implementing ministries are delivering results through training programmes in the following area:

• Enhance the capacity of professional Women and Girls Process
• Micro Business Leadership and Management for Rural Girls and Women

The aim of the training are to build the capacity of the professional women, rural girls and women as end beneficiaries to become economically and financially self-reliant and to profitably manage micro enterprises so as to enable them grow their businesses for self- reliance and sustainable development. The training will focus on the design, implementation, management as well as monitoring and evaluation of project and put in place a simple accountability framework for effective feedback mechanism, tracking and monitoring of the programme, identify techniques, tools and means for girls and women to develop a procurement mindset, acquire skills in micro enterprise leadership and management, gain access to credits and leverage the power of cooperatives for business growth.

Interested professional women, rural girls and women with existing micro business are invited to apply for the capacity building training on any of the above areas. They will be selected from the pilot states listed here. Interested applicants are advised to appear in persons at the Ministry of Water Resources in Osun, Plateau) Bauchi and Abia States for sensitization and Need Assessment “Between” 26th-29th, November 2013.
