The Plateau State Government, through the Ministry of Works, is desirous of embarking on the design and dualization, reconstruction of the above roads aimed at improving the smooth flow of traffic, reduce hold-ups improve travel time and to also enhance the aesthetics of the Jos city.

Invitation For Pre-Qualification And Tender For The Design And Dualization Of British America Junction-Lamingo Junction –Farin Gada Phase 1 Including Access To Water Board Reservior (3.3KM) And The Reconstruction And Rehabilitation Of Maraban Jama’a Bukuru-Yakubu Gowon Way-British America (22KM)

Scope of Works
The scope of works for the design and dualization of British America Junction-Lamingo Junction Farm Gada Phase 1 including an Access to Water Board Reservior (3.30km) essentially involves but not limited to the following:

  • Site clearance up to the limit of construction works.
  • Earthworks and filling on the expansion of the road for the dualization.
  • Scarification of existing bituminous surface;
  • Subsoil drainage with graded material where necessary.
  • Provision of pipe and box culverts;
  • Provision of 2No Bridges for the dualization;
  • Sub base and base course;
  • Stone base.
  • Prime coat MC 1/Asphaltic concrete binder course
  • Asphaltic concrete wearing course
  • Retaining walls where necessary
  • Kerbs
  • Concrete walkways
  • Provision of street light ducts
  • Drainage works
  • Ancillary works.

The scope of works for the Reconstruction and Rehabilitation of Maraban Jama’a-Bukuru-Yakubu Gowon Way-British America (22KM) involves but not limited to the following:

  • Site clearance up to the limit of construction works.
  • Earthworks on eroded shoulders and carriageway where necessary;
  • Scarification of existing bituminous surface on carriageway and shoulders;
  • Provision of adequate pipe and Box culverts where necessary;
  • Sub base and Base course where necessary;
  • Stone Base;
  • Prime coat MCI;
  • First coat and second coat surface dressing on hard shoulders;
  • Asphaltic concrete binder course;
  • Asphaltic concrete wearing Course;
  • Kerbs;
  • Concrete Walkways;
  • Drainage Works;
  • Provision of Street Light ducts;
  • Interlocking tiles where necessary;
  • Ancillary works;

Invitation for Prequalification Documents
Considering the above, the Plateau State Government through the Ministry of Works hereby invites reputable, experienced and competent bidders to submit prequalification documents to the office of the Honourable Commissioner for Works not later than 2 weeks from the date of this publication. Successful bidders should satisfy the following:

  • Evidence of registration with Federal Works Registration Board and Plateau State Tenders Board as a road contractor
  • Evidence of registration with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) by inclusion of copy of Certificate of Incorporation and Artictes of Association;
  • Comprehensive Company profile including Key Professional Staff and their roles, designation, qualifications and years of experience;
  • Tax clearance Certificate for the last three (3) consecutive years (2010, 2011 and 2012) corresponding with declared annual turnover;
  • Evidence of having successfully carried out similar road construction work in the past five (5) years including title of projects client, certificates be include etc substantial completion, maintenance certificate be included;
  • Evidence of VAT Registration and past remittances;
  • Current audited account for 3 years with an average annual turnover of not less than 25 Billion;
  • Evidence of Financial capability and Banking support;
  • Verifiable evidence of availability of appreciates equipment and Technical capability;
  • Telephone (GSM) numbers of company’s representatives;

Collection of Tender Documents
Successful bidders will collect the Tender documents on payment of the sum of N500, 000.00 to the Finance and Accounts Department of the Ministry of Works, Plateau State.
The bid documents will be made available from Monday 3rd March, 2014 on presentation of evidence of payment of N500, 000.00 non-refundable processing fee for your bid documents to the office of:

These Tender documents must be dully completed and returned to the Office of:

Before the closing date at which time they will be opened in the presence of bidders or representatives at the hail of the Ministry of Works;

  • The Tenders and other supporting documents should be two (2) copies spiral bound are to be submitted not later than before the closing date and bid opening will be done immediately.
  • All bids must be accompanied with bid security of 2% of the bid price.
  • All bids and Tenders must be submitted in sealed envelopes marked:
