Invitation to Pre- Qualification Tender for the Construction of 114 Room Students Hostel for Tertiary Institutions at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development

The Edo State Ministry of Housing and Urban Development hereby invites for pre-qualification and consideration to tender from Category A contractors only for the construction of 114 (one Hundred and fourteen) room students’ hostel for selected tertiary institutions in Edo State.

Invitation to Pre- Qualification Tender for the Construction of 114 Room Students Hostel for Tertiary Institutions at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development

Scope
The construction of a 114 room prototype multi floor students’ hostel to be sited at different locations in Edo State. Details of construction drawings and bill of quantities will be provided for Category A contractors who are successful in the pre-qualification exercise.

Requirements
Competent and interested contractors with requisite experience, equipment, personnel and financial capability are required to submit the company profile which must include but not limited to the following documents: -

1. Company profile with staff list and evidence including resumes, professional qualifications, registration with relevant professional bodies and experience.
2. Evidence of previous similar projects undertaken in the past 5years including scope, site of project, contract sum and evidence of successful completion of the projects. The Ministry hereby reserves the right to independently verify any claims in the submitted documents.
3. Evidence of possession of relevant plants and equipment; please state location of the plants and equipments for ease of physical independent verification.
4. Evidence of registration with Corporate Affairs Commission.
5. Evidence of Annual Returns to Corporate Affairs Commission.
6. Tax Clearance Certificates of 2 directors of the company for the past 3 years (i.e. 2011, 2012, 2013).
7. Evidence of VAT registration and remittances.
8. Evidence of financial capability and banking support (bank references) and letter authorising the Ministry to verify same from the relevant bank.
9. Please state the full address of the company, branch offices, contact officer, GSM phone numbers, email and website (where applicable).

All proposals must reach the above address not later than 12.noon of August 22nd 2014.

Method of Application
Eligible companies are required to submit their pre-qualification documents in 1 hard copy and 1 soft copy on a compact disc or flash drive in a sealed envelope clearly marked “The Construction of a 114 room students’ hostel for tertiary institutions in Edo State”, and addressed to:-

This is not an invitation to tender only successful pre-qualified contractors will be invited to tender for this project. All successfully prequalified contractors will be required to register with the Edo State Government. Already registered companies must show evidence of current registration.
