Invitation for Pre-Qualification to Manage the Students’ Hostels in the College of Medicine, University of Lagos

The College of Medicine, University of Lagos, invites interested Facility Managers to apply for pre-qualification to manage the following Male and Female Students Hostels in the Idi — Araba Campus each consisting of:

Male Hall

• Ali Akilu Hall
• Oritsejolomi Thomas Hall
• Felix Dosekun Hall
• Sir. Samuel Manuwa Hall

Female Hall

• New Female Hostel
• Abimbola Awoliyi Hall

Scope of Work
The Facility Managers are expected to:

1. Be responsible for the day to day administration and maintenance ofthe hostels
2. Provide adequate security and insurance to safeguard lives and properties of the students’ Resident in the hostels.
3. Ensure the supply of electricity and water to the hostels
4. Supply adequate furniture, beddings and fittings that will guarantee the comfort of the students within the hostels

The hostels can be inspected by interested Facility Managers before forwarding proposals to the College of Medicine Authority for consideration.

Pre-Qualification Requirements

General

1. Certificate of lncorporation/Registration withthe Corporate Affairs Commission
2. Tax Clearance and VAT Certificates for the last three (3) years
3. Audited Annual Financial Reports of the Company for the last three (3) years

Technical Competence

1. Evidence of ability to manage hostels inhabited by highly vibrant youths together with detailed expenence in managing similar properties.
2. Company’s profile which must include details of the top management and key professional staff.
3. Bidders must also submit Environment and Safety Manual on the hostels.

General Information

1. All pre-qualification requirements are to be typewritten and neatly bound.
2. Bidders interested in managing more than one hostel are to apply separately for each hostel. However, a bidder should not apply for more than two hostels.
3. Contact for clarification and/or additional information: My organization interested in this pre-qualification could inspect the listed hostels in Idi-Araba by reporting to the Porters Lodge of each Hall where the House-keeper will take the Company’s representative round between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. Monday to Friday during the period that this advertisement is made public until the close of the pre-qualification exercise. All bidders must be present on the date of the opening oftheir submissions before the evaluation is made.

Pre-Requisites for Processing of Pre-Qualifications
Payment of Pre-qualiflcation fees: All fees for pre-qualification shall be paid through a non-refundable bank draft or certified cheque of Twenty thousand naira (20,000) only to the Finance Department, College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Idi-Araba.

Collection of Pre-qualification documents:
The pre-qualification documents for each hostel shall be collected from the College Engineers Office, afterthe submission of a photocopy of the receipt issued at the cash office in respect of payment of the pre-qualification fees.

2nd October 2014

Submission of Pre-qualification documents:
All the submissions should be in a sealed envelope marked “Confidential: Expression of Interest to Pre-qualify as Hostel Facility Manager”. The documents should be delivered by hand or Courier Service to the address below not later than 2nd October 2014:

• Bidders who are deemed competent to manage the hostel will be contacted after the close of the pre-qualification exercise.
• Notwithstanding the submission of the pre-qualification documents, the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, ldi-Araba is neither committed nor under any obligation to shortlist any Facility Manager for the project or award the contract for the management of the hostels to any bidder.
