Invitation To Tender For The Year 2012 Capital Projects

The Ministry of Mines and Steel Development hereby invites interested and reputable companies/ consultants with relevant experience to tender for the following projects in the year 2012 capital Budget:
Interested contractors for the following are required to collect the tender documents from the Office of the Head of Procurement Division room 208, Block A of the Ministry after the payment of the tender fee of ten thousand naira (N10,000.00) for Lots (A1-8) to Diamond Bank Plc A/c No. 0012857266 in favour of the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, Abuja, whereas the Consultants are to submit their Expression of Interest(EOI) for Lots (B1-6) documents at the same office above.

Lot 1	Procurement of Equipment to upgrade and update the DataBank on activities in the Metal Sector
Lot 2	Procurement of Field and Office Equipment-Protection Kits, Chemicals, Test Kits/Reagents etc
Lot 3	Procurement of Metallurgical Testing Equipment
Lot 4	Procurement of Monitoring and Evaluation Equipment 4WD JEEP
Lot 5	Procurement of IT Equipment and Establishment of a well equipped and Standard Mining Information System in the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development
Lot 6	Equipping the Ministry’s Library with books
Lot 7	Purchase of Security Equipment
Lot 8	Procurement of Local and International law books

B	CONSULTANCY SERVICES
Lot 1	Conduction of 3rd National Steel Summit
Lot 2	Stimulation and Promotion of activities of downstream in the Six(6) Geopolitical Zone of Nigeria
Lot 3	Monitoring of Steel and Aluminum Industries
Lot 4	Consultancy Services for the Reclamation of two(2) Abandoned Mine Sites in Kano and Plateau States
Lot 5	Consultancy Severices for the Supervision of the completion of the Installation of super concentrate plant and Rehabilitation of concentrate Beneficiation line 2 at the National Iron Ore Mining Company (NIOMCO) Itakpe
Lot 6	Production of Annual journal on Minerals and Metals

Qualification
All submissions must be accompanied with the following documents:

i. Certificate of Incorporation with Corporate Affairs Commission
ii. Tax Clearance Certificate for the last three (3) years (2009-2011)
iii. VAT registration certificate and evidence of remittance to FIRS.
iv. Company profile with evidence of experience in similar jobs and successfully completed with certificate attached/equipment etc
v. Evidence of payment of the non-refundable tender fee of Ten thousand Naira(N10,000.00) for Lot A1-8
vi. Evidence of compliance with the Pension Act
vii. Evidence of Bank Reference/Financial capacity.
viii. Audited Account for last three years (2009-2010)

Sumbission of Tender Documents
Interested companies for Lot A1-8 are to submit their tender documents (technical and financial) in sealed envelope clearly marked “Tender for Y2012” and Lots B1-6 for EOI’s shall be clearly marked “TECHNICAL PROPOSAL” and to be submitted in ORIGINAL and COPY as appropriate, enclosed in one single envelope, indicating the project / lot(s) of interest to the office of the Head of Procurement Division, Block A, Room No. 208 Luanda Crescent, Off Ademola Adetokunbo Crescent Wuse II Abuja.

Closing Date
12noon on Monday, 24th September, 2012

BID OPENING
Opening of the submitted document will take place at 2:00pm on the closing day of submission (i.e Monday 24th September, 2012) at the Honourable Minister’s Conference Room. Representatives of all bidders, NGOs and interested members of the public are hereby invited to witness the bid opening.

a. That late submission will be rejected,
b. That this advertisement shall not be construed to be a commitment on the part of the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, nor shall it entitle any person to make any claim whatsoever and/or seek any indemnity from the Ministry by virtue of such tender having responded to advertisement.
