Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) invites reputable contractors/suppliers to submit pre-qualification documents for the supply of the following equipment:




The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has recved a CREDIT facility from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for Accelerated Transmission - Distribution Interface Projects to invest in the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN)'s rehabilitation and expansion projects.

Applications are invited for:

Scope of Works
Lot / EKEDC /SS / 1:
Akoko 1X40MVA & 1x45MVATS:
  • Upgrading of 1X40MVA & 1x45MVA with 2X60MVA, 132/33kv Power Transformer at Akoka TS.
  • Construction of additional 33kV feeder bay.
  • Conversion of indoor Circuit breaker to outdoor,
Lot / EKEDC / SS / 2:
solo TS 1X45MVA, 2X60MVA, 132/33kV TS:
  • Replacement of faulty 60MVA 132/33kV Transformer.
  • Installation of 3nos 33kVA Feeder bays.
Lot / EKEDC / SS / 3:
Itire TS 1X30MVA, 1X40MVA & 1x60MVA132/33 KV:




  • Replacement of failed 60MVA transformer at Itire TS

Ojo TS 2X 6OMVA, 132/33kV TS:
  • Construct 3noS 33kV bays at the transmission station,
  • Rehabilitation of problematic indoor circuit breakers - (Elimson - Turkey type)- Faulty 33kv panel to be replaced for System Reliability.

  • Upgrading of 2X45MVA with 2x100MVA, 132/33kv Transformers. Construction of additional 2x33kV feeder bays.

AJah 1X100MVA. 2 X60MVA, 1X60MVA Mobitra 132/33kv Transmission S/S:




  • Installation of 1x100MVA, 132/33kV Transformer at Aja TS
  • Construction of additional outdoor 3x33kv feeder-bays.

Apapa Road 1X4SMVA, 132/33kV TS:
  • Construction af additional 33kV feeder bays.
  • Installation of additional 1X45MVA, 132/33kV Mobitra at Apapa Rd TS.

Eko Atlantic City Transmission Line:
  • Engineering Design,Procurement, Construction and Commissioning of 132KV Double Circuit Transmission line from Lekki Substation to the proposed 132/33kV Atlantic City proposed substation on Steel Poles towers with pile foundations.

  • Engineering Design, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning of 2X60MVA 132/33kV Eko Atlantic City GIS Substations

  • Power transformers (2x 150MVA + 2x100MVA + 2x60MVA)
  • Mobitra: 1x60MVA.
Eligibility Requirements (Nigerian Companies Only)
Suitable Nigerian companies are invited to participate in the pre-qualification exercise by submitting the following pre-requisite requirements:
  • Certificate of Incorporation with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria with forms CO2 and C07.
  • Current Tax Clearance Certificate for the past three years valid till 2021
  • Three years company audited financial statement for the period of 2018-2020 duly stamped by a registered audit firm.
  • PENCOM Compliance Certificate valid till 31st December 2021.
  • Industrial Training Fund (ITF) compliance certificate Valid till 31st December 2021.
  • Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) compliance certificate valid till 2021.
  • NEMSA Compliance Certificate for 2021. For Joint Venture Partnerships, the Joint Venture Agreements must be signed by all the parties, a copy of which must be attached. In addition, all partners must meet the above requirements.
Qualification Requirements
The under listed qualification requirements apply to Applicants, including Joint Ventures
  • Minimum average annual construction turnover over the past three (5) years as shown below;
    • Two hundred and fifty million Naira (NGN250,000,000.00)
  • The applicant shall demonstrate that he has access to, or has available liquid assets, unencumbered real assets, lines of credit, and other financial means (independent of any contractual advance payment)sufficient to meet the construction cash flow requirements.
  • Evidence of at least two (2) projects of similar nature and complexity completely executed in the last five years, including final taking- over/completion certificates.
  • All equipment, materials, and switch gear to be imported and used under the TCN/EKEDC must come from manufacturers who have European Certification and or KEMA such that they can be shipped via Europe, and those from Americas, Japan should be pre-approved and accepted by us. Evidence of such certification must be submitted along with the Pre-qualification Documents. Companies will not be allowed to change origin before and after submission of OEM.
  • Company profile including populate organizational structure and key professional staff with relevant experience on high voltage power lines and substations.

Submission of Documents
One soft copy and one hard copy of the documents are to be submitted. The soft copy should be provided via flash drive only which should be included inside the hard copy envelope. All the information requested for pre-qualification must be provided in English Language by all applicants.





Failure to provide information/supporting documents that are essential for the evaluation of applicant's qualifications, or to provide timely clarification or substantiation of the information supplied, may result in disqualification of the applicant. Completed pre-qualification applications should be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked "APPLICATION FOR PRE-QUALIFICATION (include the LOT ID/Projects).
