Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc (AEDC) established in November 2013 is a company registered under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. AED Plc is required to maintain power quality in line with prevailing Nigeria regulations as set by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) in its Customer Service Standards of Performance, together with internationally accepted standards (IEC 60050).

Title: Invitation for Pre-Qualification of Contractors for 132/33KV Transmission Lines and Substation Rehabilitation Project and Equipment Supply
Preamble
Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc has received a CREDIT facility from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for the acceleration of Transmission-Distribution Interface projects to invest in the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) rehabilitation and expansion projects.
Scope of Work
- Lot 1: Karu 2X60MVA 132/33kV: Re-conductoring of 132KV Apo-Karu-Keffi-Akwanga transmission line by TCN (to improve wheeling capacity by 80-200MW) - 139.5km with 250mm 2 ACCC "Oriole" Conductor)
- Lot 2: Karu Substation Upgrade of 2x60MVA 132/33kV to 2x100MVA 132/33kV Transformers at Karu Transmission Station (To resolve transformer capacity limitation at Karu TS)
- Lot 3: Transformers Spares: 1) Power Transformers (2x150MVA + 2X100MVA + 2x60MVA) ii) Mobitra; 1x 60MV.
Eligibility Requirements (Nigerian Companies Only)
Suitable Nigerian companies are invited to participate in the pre-qualification exercise by submitting the following pre-qualification requirements:
- Certificate of Incorporation with Corporate Affairs Commission in Nigeria with forms CO2,007 and Memorandum & Article of Association.
- Current Tax Clearance Certificate for the past three years (2018, 2019 and 2020)
- Three years Company Audited Financial Statement for the period of ( 2018, 2019 and 2020) dully stamped by a registered Audit firm
- PENCOM Compliance Certificate valid till 31st December, 2021
- Industrial Training Fund (ITF) compliance Certificate valid till 31st December, 2021
- Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) valid till 31st December 2021
- NEMSA Compliance Certificate valid till 31st December, 2021
- For Joint Ventures/Partnership, the Joint Venture Agreement must be signed by all the parties, a copy of which must be attached. In addition, all partners must meet the above requirements.
Qualification Requirements
The under-listed qualification requirements applies to applicants, including Joint Ventures:
- Minimum Average Annual Construction Turnover, over the past three (3) years in the tune of NGN250M (Two Hundred and Fifty Million Naira Only)
- Demonstrate that it has access to/or has available liquid Assets unencumbered Real Estate, line of credit, and or other financial means (Independent of any contractual advance payment) sufficient to meet the construction cash flow
- Evidence of experience of at least 2 (2) projects of similar nature and complexity and final take over certificate from the clients
- Company Profile showing nature of the business, plants and equipment, personnel, product profile, project management, Health and Safety Policy.

Submission of Documents
One soft copy in a flash drive and two hard copies of the documents are to be submitted. The names and mailing address of applicant's company(s) must be clearly marked on the envelop(s) bearing the submission. All the information requested for pre-qualification must be in English language.
Failure to provide information/supporting documents that is essential for the evaluation of the applicant's qualification or provide timely clarification or substantiation of the information supplied, may result to disqualification of the applicant.
