The Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc invites reliable and competent insurance brokers to tender RFP documents for the following works:

Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) established in 1997 is a company registered under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria based on the privatization of the power distribution sector in Nigeria.

Applications are invited for:

Title: Request for Proposal for the Provision of 2022 Insurance Services

Preamble

AEDC is required to maintain power quality in line with prevailing Nigeria regulations as set by the Nigeria Electrical Regulatory Commission (NERC) in their customer’s service standards of Performance, together with internationally accepted standards (IEC 60050). AEDC has a franchise for the distribution and sale of electricity across an area of 133,000 km2 in the Federal Capital Territory, Niger State, Kogi State and Nasarawa State.

Scope of Work

AEDC would be requiring the services of Insurance Brokers for the following Insurance policies (January 2022-December, 2022):

Name of Policy:

Group Life Assurance Policy
Group Personal Accident
Director and Officer's Liability
Motor Vehicle Insurance
Property-All Risk and Business Interruption (including Machinery Breakdown)
Sabotage and Terrorism, Including Malicious Damage, Strikes, Riots, and Civil Commotion
Public & Products Liability, and Electromagnetic Field Liability
Money Insurance (with fidelity guarantee extension)
Computer All-Risk
Cyber Liability Insurance

Mandatory Requirements From Insurance Brokers

Evidence of certified copies of Certificate of Incorporation with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) including Forms CAC2 and CAC7.
Evidence of Company Income’s Tax Clearance Certificate (certified by FIRS) for the last three (3) years (2018, 2019 & 2020) valid till 31st December 2021.
Evidence of Company Audited Accounts for 2019 & 2020 duly signed by licensed Auditors and certified by NAICOM.
Company profile to include names, qualification and experience of key personnel.
Evidence of Current Operating License from the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM).
Professional Indemnity (Evidence of Valid Current Cover); Limit of 1 billion naira.
Evidence of Registration Certificate with Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB).
Membership of Financial Reporting Council (FRC) of the Broker.
Sworn affidavit that none of the company's director has been convicted in any law court for any criminal offence including fraud and financial impropriety.
Documented evidence of at least 3 similar jobs (insurance Brokerage services) successfully completed within the last 5 years including Letters of Award.
Completed and Signed Conflict of Interest form-Attached in the RFP.

Mandatory Requirements For Proposed Under-Writers to be used by the Brokers

NAICOM approved financial statements for 2019 & 2020 Financial Years.
2019 & 2020 Capital Assets/Shareholders Fund.
Draft/sample copies of policy documents.
Valid reinsurance treaty cover to be provided by Underwriters.
