Consultants for the Microworks for Job Creation in Nigeria under the Federal Government STEP-B ProjectSTEP-B

The Federal Government of Nigeria has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of Science and Technology Education Post Basic (STEP-B) Project. The project intends to apply a portion of the credit to eligible payment under the contract for engaging three individual consultants for the Microworks for job creation in Nigeria.

a. Lead Specialist and Coordinator
b. Technical Expert and
c. National Consultant.

1.) The objective of the assignment is to launch Nigeria on the path of large scale exploitation of global and local microwork industry and reduce youth unemployment. Specific goals that will lead to attainment of objective are:

• Survey of existing microwork platforms
• Microwork strategy and recommendations for Nigeria
• Workshop for Nigerian aggregator firms and organizations
• Business Plan for Digitization of government data
• Curriculum development for train-the-trainers and youth, and credentialing model
• Capacity building/proof of concept training at the University level

2.) The National Project Secretariat, of Science and Technology Education Post Basic (STEP-B) now invites consultants to indicate their interest in providing this service. Interested individuals must provide information indicating they are qualified to provide this service. The prospective consultants are to submit their CVs describing their experience in provision of similar assignment, relevant educational qualifications and capacity to carry out this assignment.

3.) Selection shall be in accordance with World Bank guidelines Selection and Employment of consultants by World Bank Borrowers (January, 2011 edition)
