The Federal Ministry of Water Resources (FMWR) invites interested and qualified consultancy firms to indicate interest by submitting EOI documents to tender for the following works:




Federal Ministry of Water Resources (FMWR) - The Nigerian Ministry of Water Resources is created to provide sustainable access to safe and sufficient water to meet the cultural and socio-economic needs of all Nigerians in a way that will enhance public health, food security and poverty reduction, while maintaining the integrity of fresh water ecosystem of the nation.

Preamble
This request for expression of interest follows the General Procurement Notice for this programme that appeared in African Development Bank Group Internet Website (www.afdb.org) of 21st May, 2019.

The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) has received financing from the African Development Bank (the Bank), towards the cost of Programme for Integrated Development and Adaptation to Climate Change in the Niger Basin (PIDACC/NB) in Nigeria and intends to apply part of the agreed amount to finance payments under the contract for the "Technical Assistance for SubProjects Identification and Development".

Scope of Service
The services included under this consultancy is technical assistance to support communities and the National Programme Coordination Unit, in the identification and development/implementation of:
  • Agro-forestry, vegetative hedges, mulching, organic manure, improved fallows; 
  • Control of invasive species; 
  • Biodiversity protection; 
  • Forest rehabilitation and management; 
  • Restoration of wetlands productivity;
  • Supervision of the implementation of soil and water conservation engineering structures/facilities, infrastructure for CC adaptation, embankments/dykes and levees.
  • Agri-business support and training. 
This entails working with the NPCU and the four (4) River Basin Development Authorities (RBDAs) of PIDACC intervention areas namely: Upper Benue, Upper Niger, Sokoto-Rima and Anambra-Imo.

Eligibility




The Executing Agency, Federal Ministry of Water Resources (FMWR) through its NPCU now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interests in providing these services. Interested Consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (firm brochure, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, and availability of appropriate skills among staff etc.).

Eligibility Criteria, establishment of the shortlist and selection procedure shall be in accordance with the procurement policy for the Bank Group funded operation (Policy), October 2015 which is available on the Banks website at https://www.afdb.org/en/documents/eoi-nigeria-technical-assistance-sub-projects-identification-and-development-pidacc/nb
