The Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) invites qualified and interested consultancy firms to indicate interest by tendering RFP documents for the following works:




The Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) is a farmer-centered, African-led, partnerships-driven institution that is working towards transforming smallholder farming from a solitary struggle to survive, to a business that thrives. In collaboration with its partners-including African governments, researchers, development partners, the private sector and civil society- AGRA’s work primarily focuses on smallholder farmers – men and women who typically cultivate staple crops on two hectares or less.

AGRA has learned a lot from efforts during its first decade and is now recognized across the continent as a strong voice for African rural development, a prosperous agricultural economy, and for supporting thousands of small African businesses and millions of African families to improve agriculture as a way to ensure food security and improve their livelihoods.

Title: Request for Proposal (RFP) - Junior Partnerships Consultant

Objective of the Consultancy
Partnerships Consultant will work closely with relevant staff in the division to contribute to and strengthen the delivery of the divisions results and overall AGRA’s efforts. The Agribusiness DealRoom is an innovative and dynamic environment integrated within diverse institutional operations within a fast paced and dynamic team. The Partnerships Consultant will work primarily with the Agribusiness Dealroom team, focusing on research, database management, data analytics, social media engagement, reporting, website management and event management.

Scope of Work
The key responsibilities of the Partnerships Consultant will include:
  • Preparation of data reports from the Agribusiness Dealroom data
  • Research and data synthesis on thematic topics to inform the Dealroom interventions
  • Develop and promote Dealroom social media content in a frequent and consistent manner to increase the platform visibility
  • Develop and maintain a categorized database of all Dealroom contacts collated from the virtual platform and from past events held
  • Support regular development, writing and production of web content as assigned
  • Logistical support in organizing key events
  • Preparation of PowerPoint presentations for different stakeholders
  • Additional duties as may be assigned to support capacity needs of the division.
Competencies, Skills and Experience Required
Qualification Requirements:




  • At least a University degree in business, IT, finance or a related field; advanced degree is desirable
  • A least 5 years’ experience in similar assignment
  • Broad understanding of agricultural productivity, agribusiness and/or value chain programs
  • Demonstrated experience in multi-stakeholder convening interactive platforms
  • Strong analytical and information presentation skills
  • Fluency in English
Competencies Required:
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Strong presentation skills with knowledge of tools such as PPT, Canva
  • Strong research skills and ability to synthesize large sets of information
  • Planning and Organizing: Devises plans of action with explicit paths and measures of accomplishment for self and/or others and allocates suitable resources so that objectives are achieved. Strong administration skills
  • Results driven and attention to detail: ability to deliver in a short time span, high level of accuracy, attention to detail and thoroughness. Ability to maintain a timely and efficient workflow.
  • Communication and interpersonal relations: Exceptional communication skills and ability to represent AGRA externally at high levels. Demonstrates ability to maintain lasting, healthy, and effective one-to-one working relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders etc.
  • Intercultural sensitivity and effectiveness: Demonstrate ability to cross and bridge different racial, cultural, or business cultures. This requires and is exhibited by personal experience of international or cross-cultural business with improved achievements.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrates productive drive in working with peers, partners, consultants and others to achieve pre-targeted and measurable business results.
Deliverables of the Assignment
Below are the expected assignment deliverables
  • Inception Report
  • Monthly Progress Reporton activity carried out including:
    • Preparation of data reports from the Agribusiness Dealroom data
    • Research and data synthesis on thematic topics to inform the Dealroom interventions
    • Develop and promote Dealroom social media content in a frequent and consistent manner to increase the platform visibility
    • Develop and maintain a categorized database of all Dealroom contacts collated from the virtual platform and from past events held
    • Support regular development, writing and production of web content as assigned
    • Logistical support in organizing key events
    • Preparation of PowerPoint presentations for different stakeholders
    • Increased DealRoom Platform visibility
    • Updating of DealRoom contacts database
    • Additional duties as may be assigned to support capacity needs of the division.
  • End of assignment Report.

Note




  • The proposal and ALL Attachments submitted via email SHALL NOT exceed 10MB.
  • VALIDITY of the proposal shall be for a period of 90 days from the date of bid closure.
  • Financial proposal shall be sent as a separate attachment and MUST be password protected. The password shall be requested from the best technically qualified individual.

Interested and qualified consultants are invited to submit their proposal(s) comprising of the following:
  • Technical approach/methodology of the assignment
  • Detailed CV of the consultant
  • Work Delivery plan
  • Financial proposal for the assignment:
    • Consultancy fee for the assignment with detailed budget breakdown. The financial proposals shall include all applicable taxes quoted separately. If taxes are not mentioned in the financial proposal, AGRA shall consider that they are included in the prices provided. The quoted cost estimates should be in United States Dollars.
