The African Union (AU) is a continental union consisting of 55 member states located on the continent of Africa. The AU was announced in the Sirte Declaration in Sirte, Libya, on 9 September 1999, calling for the establishment of the African Union.

Title: Request for Expression of Interest (REOI) - Consultancy Service to Undertake Business Process Improvements (BPI) for African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) Operational Services

Preamble
Technological advancement and digital solutions can be a catalyst to overcome challenges that affect organizational performance, as well as teams and individual performance. The African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) Currently operates with ERP SAP platform, where various business processes are performed for corporate service requirements and has improved certain processes and made the AUDA-NEPAD to be compliant on most of the governance structure in the African Union. However, there are significant business processes and transactions that are still operating manually, in Finance, Procurement, HR and Admin that need to be reviewed, improved, optimized and digitalized to reduce operational waste and avoid manual operation that hinders efficient service provision for the organization, reducing productivity, internal controls, and overall business delivery.

The processes improvement and digitalization activities undoubtedly uplift the delivery capacity of the entire organization. The processes and digitalization, if interfaced with the SAP ERP system, will have the most efficient service provision and transparency to stakeholders.

The African Union Commission has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the "Support for Capacity Development of the African Union Commission and Other African Union Organs Project (P126848)” and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services.

Objective
  • To develop digitalization capabilities and transformation on a phased approach with a focus on critical manual processes and workflows that provide sustainable digital online solutions with agility, able to Integrate with ERP-SAP, scalable and user friendly that will significantly augment development effectiveness of the AUDA-NEPAD with greater emphasis on efficiency, transparency, accountability, business productivity and adaptive skilled workforce.
  • The overall Business Process Improvement for corporate services provision, planning, management and delivery of programs in a framework of e-AUDA drives AUDA-NEPAD to become efficient, effective and transparent in its operational service provision.
Shortlisting Criteria
  • An Official signed Letter from an authorized official, expressing interest of the firm to participate in the Consultancy,
  • General profile and background of the firm which should elaborate the following:
    • Core Business of the firms
    • Names of authorized representatives of the firms (Power of Attorney).
    • In the cases of Consortium's/Partnerships/Associations shall be required to submit Joint venture Agreements/Joint Association letters stating the lead firm.
    • Commercial Registration of the firms attaching Registrations certificates.
    • Tax Clearance Certificate/ Value Added Tax Certificate.
  • Experience of the Firms in handling consultancy services of similar assignments in the past five years.
  • Availability of Professional Key Staff with Suitable Qualifications in the field of assignment
