HIV/AIDS Programme Development Project II
General Procurement Notice
The National Agency for the Control of AIDS Nigeria has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) World Bank in the amount of US$ 225 Million equivalent toward the cost of the Second HIV/AIDS Programme Development Projects and it intends to apply the proceeds of this credit for payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. The project will be jointly financed with the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Objective of the HPDP II is to reduce the risk of HIV infection by scaling up prevention intervention and to increase access to and utilization of HIV counseling, testing, care and support services.
The Second HIV/AIDS Project Development Program has 3 components which are.
- Component 1 - Expanding public sector response
- Component 2 - Expanding civil & private sector engagement and response through the HIV/AIDS funds (HAF)(for the engagement of SSOs and NGOs at both NACA and SACA level)
- Component 3 - Strengthening mechanism for project coordination and management
Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits “October 2006” and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers October, 2006.
Specific procurement notices for contracts to be bid under the World Bank’s international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for consulting services will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business, On the NACA website, 2 National dailies and the DG Market.
