Call for Expression of Interest (EOI) and Quotation for the Construction of a Block of Three (3) Classrooms, Staff Room/Office, Mini Store and Gender-Sensitive Toilets at Women and Children Health Empowerment Foundation (WACHEF)

Applications are invited from qualified, experienced and reputable contractors based in Taraba State for:

Title: Call for Expression of Interest (EOI) and detailed Quotation for the Construction of a Block of Three (3) Classrooms, Staff Room/Office, Mini Store and Gender-Sensitive Toilets

Location: Mayang Community, Gashaka - Taraba

Project Description
The proposed project is aimed at improving the learning environment and educational infrastructure in Mayang Community through the construction of a block comprising:

• Three (3) classrooms
• One (1) staff room/office
• One (1) mini store
• Gender-sensitive toilet facilities
• Pupils' and staff furniture.

The project is expected to be delivered in accordance with approved specifications, applicable construction standards, safety requirements and agreed timelines.

Scope of Work
The successful contractor will be responsible for the complete execution of the works, including but not limited to:

• Site preparation and setting out.
• Foundation works.
• Block work from foundation to completion.
• Roofing and carpentry works.
• Plastering and other finishing works.
• Flooring.
• Painting.
• Installation of doors and windows.
• Electrical installations, including provision for ceiling fans and electrical sockets.
• Construction and completion of gender-sensitive toilet facilities.
• Construction/completion of staff room/office and mini store.
• Installation of classroom fixtures.
• Provision of pupils' and office furniture, comprising:
  • 90 three-seater desks(30 desks per classroom).
  • 3 staff tables.
  • 10 chairs.
• Any other associated works necessary for the successful completion and functionality of the facility.

The contractor will be required to provide progress reports at each major stage of construction and cooperate with the project team during monitoring and inspection.

Technical Requirements
Interested contractors should demonstrate the technical capacity and experience required to successfully undertake the project.
Applicants should have:

• Demonstrable experience in construction of classrooms or similar public infrastructure.
• Adequate construction equipment, tools and resources.
• Qualified and experienced technical personnel.
• Evidence of successful completion of similar projects.
• Capacity to work within the required timeframe.
• Appropriate quality assurance and construction supervision arrangements.
• Relevant licences, registrations and certifications where applicable.

Compliance Requirements
All construction activities must comply with:

• Applicable Nigerian laws and regulations.
• Relevant local construction requirements.
• Environmental and social safeguards.
• Occupational health and safety standards.
• Applicable construction quality standards.
• Community safety and safeguarding requirements.

Contractors must demonstrate their ability to implement the project safely and responsibly.

Evalution Criteria
Submissions will be evaluated based on, but not limited to:

• Relevant experience and past performance.
• Technical capacity and availability of equipment.
• Financial capability and competitiveness of the quotation.
• Experience of proposed technical personnel.
• Compliance with eligibility and submission requirements.
• Completeness and clarity of submitted documentation.
• Evidence of successful completion of similar construction projects.
• Ability to deliver the project within the required timeframe.

Contract Duration

• The successful contractor will be engaged for a fixed contract period. Details relating to the contract duration, payment terms, milestones and deliverables will be communicated to the successful/shortlisted contractor(s) as applicable.

Eligibility

• Only contractors/vendors based in Taraba State are eligible to apply.
• Interested contractors must demonstrate that they have the required experience, capacity, personnel and resources to undertake the proposed construction works.

Shortlisting:

• Only contractors who meet the required eligibility and evaluation criteria will be shortlisted. Shortlisted contractors may be invited to participate in a further detailed tender/procurement process.
• Submission of an EOI does not constitute a contract award or guarantee of selection.
